Mbombela - A 26-year-old man and a 16-year-old youth accused of murder appeared in the Eerstehoek Magistrate's Court in Mpumalanga on Monday.

Mafika “Papa Action” Nkosi, 26, and the teenager, who may not be named, were not asked to plead, a Sapa correspondent reported.

They are accused of murdering Petros Malele, 44, who was giving them a lift from a tavern in Elukwatini to their homes around 1am on November 23, said Constable Solly Mbokane. He was with two women at the time.

Malele's Volkswagen Golf ran out of petrol before he got there.

“We got information that the suspects had earlier planned to deal with the deceased, as they suspected him of having an affair with one of the women who were in the car,” said Mbokane.

The two would appear again on December 10. They remained in custody.
