Bloemfontein - Two men appeared in the Parys Magistrate’s Court in connection with a farm murder near Parys this week, the NPA said on Friday.

Ezekiel Mnguni, 30, and Mmaditaba Mokubung, 46, would be back in court on January 28 for a bail application, Free State National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Phaladi Shuping said.

Ernest van Rooyen and his wife Annetjie, both in their seventies, were found killed on the farm Somerset, near Parys, this week.

A domestic worker arrived at the farmhouse on Tuesday morning and found the couple’s house ransacked.

She and a neighbouring farmer eventually discovered the bodies of the couple in the garage, from where they ran a tuckshop. The husband's feet had been bound and his head covered with a sack. The woman's body was found in a freezer. - Sapa
