Phuthaditjhaba - A 46-year-old man was expected to appear in the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate's Court after his brother in-law was killed, police said on Thursday.

The 33-year-old victim, from Mandela Park, was stabbed twice in the back during an argument at home with his in-laws late on Tuesday, Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said.

He managed to make his way to a nearby tavern where he asked for help. He was rushed to Mofumahadi Manapo Mopeli Regional Hospital, but died on arrival.

In a separate incident, a man, 58, would appear in the same court for allegedly shooting dead his 36-year-old son during an argument on Wednesday at their home in Chris Hani Park.

“They argued over (the) residential site of the family and his father pulled a firearm, shooting him in the stomach,” Mophiring said.

He died at the scene. Police seized the father's Lorcin 9mm gun. He was arrested and charged with murder. - Sapa
