Thohoyandou – Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old man in Thohoyandou, Limpopo police said on Tuesday.

The body of Rihangwele Ramaremisa, was discovered by a passerby on a roadside in Shayandima, outside Thohoyandou.

“It is alleged that on December 24 the deceased received a phone call at night while at home. He went out and never came back until his body was found lying along the street the next day with stab wounds on both legs,” said police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

“The suspects were arrested at Phathutdhedzo village near Thohoyandou yesterday [Monday] after an intensive search and investigation.”

Police recovered two stolen cellphones belonging to the deceased from the two teenagers. They also recovered an “instrument” thought to be the murder weapon.

The pair, aged 18 and 19, are expected to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court soon.
