Two men were arrested in connection with two different cases of rape in Mankweng, Limpopo police said on Thursday.

Constable Moses Molepo said a 20-year-old shop owner was arrested on Wednesday.

“The man is accused of raping two sisters, aged 8 and 12-years-old.”

Molepo said the girls went to the man's shop to buy sweets last month. He allegedly locked them inside the shop before taking turns to rape them.

He said the man faces two charges of rape and was expected to appear in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Meanwhile another man was also arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping his wife's younger sister.

“The wife went to a funeral when her husband, 42, took advantage of her 16-year-old sister at home,” said Molepo.

The man was also expected to appear in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Friday, where he faces a charge of rape. – Sapa
