Rustenburg - Two men have been arrested for possession of property, suspected to have been stolen from an Aids project in Mmakau near Brits, North West police said on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said the men, aged 30 and 40, were arrested on Wednesday, after community members tipped off police about items that were seen at a house in the Newton and Springs Section in Mmakau.

“Police immediately responded and went to search the house. They discovered stolen items that were reported missing in a business burglary case which took place at Rautanang Aids Project centre in March 2016,” he said.

“Police discovered a computer, printer, fan, microwave, soccer kit, groceries and some of stationery used by the office. The two suspects, of whom one of them was a security officer who works at the Rautanang premises, were arrested.”

The pair are expected to appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
