Johannesburg - Two Johannesburg men were arrested on Saturday in Mofolo, Soweto for allegedly robbing people using firearms at a park, metro police said.
The men, aged between their late 20s and early 30s, were arrested at Mofolo park in Soweto, JMPD Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.
“Officers were alerted that three men carrying firearms were robbing people in the park of their belongings.
“Two of the suspects started shooting at the officers, who returned fire.”
One of the men got away and was still at large, Minnaar said.
The two men were found in possession of a pistol and cellphones. They were taken to Orlando police station.
