Cape Town – Two men will appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town on Monday on charges of cultivating dagga, Western Cape police said.

Brackenfell SA Police Service officers followed up on information regarding an alleged drug deal at a service station at a shopping centre in Kraaifontein, Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.

When they arrived at the location they found two men inside a vehicle. When they searched the vehicle they found a small quantity of dagga inside the vehicle.

“The suspects were questioned and it was discovered that there was more dagga at the residence of one of the suspects, in Richwood.”

A search was conducted at the address and a large amount of dried dagga, various dagga plants growing in containers, as well as dried dagga plant stems and equipment used for cultivating dagga were seized. The dagga was worth a substantial amount. The investigation was continuing, Rwexana said.
