Two women have been stabbed to death in Skierlik in Bela Bela, Limpopo police said on Wednesday.

Lt-Col Ronel Otto said 26-year-old Lehlagonolo Salome Mowatsi and her friend, Sarah Morukhulad, 19, were killed during a domestic altercation on Tuesday.

“It is believed the older woman had a fight with her boyfriend around 10pm when the woman's friend tried to intervene.”

Otto said the boyfriend allegedly stabbed both women, before he fled the scene.

“Despite suffering from severe injuries, Mowatsi ran to the house of her neighbours, where she collapsed and died.”

Her friend Morukhulad died inside the couple's house where the fight broke out.

The boyfriend had not yet been arrested but police were tracing him, Otto said. - Sapa
