Cape Town -
Those caught driving drunk over the festive season will be dealt with severely, the cabinet warned on Thursday.
Briefing reporters in Pretoria following the executive's fortnightly meeting on Wednesday, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga said there would be more police officers on duty during the holiday season.
“Over this period, the increased visibility of law enforcement officials at roadblocks and search operations countrywide will ensure that South Africans are safe.
“Road users are reminded not to drink and drive, or drink and walk. Those found guilty of transgressing the rules will be dealt with to the full extent of the law,” she said. - Sapa
