Butterworth - Two people accused of killing a priest appeared in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, Eastern Cape police said.

Captain Jackson Manatha said the priest's wife, Lungisa Xuba, and a man she allegedly hired to kill him, would remain in custody until their next appearance on October 5.

Reverend Hlubi Xuba, 46, of the St Peter's Anglican church in Butterworth, was stabbed to death on the night of August 3. - Sapa
