An Eastern Cape municipal employee has been found murdered, a day after going missing, police said on Monday.
Nwabisa Senge, 25, left her home in Rwantsana Village to fetch her mother from a funeral in Butterworth on Saturday, but never arrived, Captain Jackson Manatha said in a statement.
“It is believed that she was hijacked between Rwantsana Village and Fourteen Junction at Centane.”
Her abandoned car was found in a forest in Theko Springs Village on Saturday afternoon. A search by police and local residents had to be called off when it got too dark.
Her body was found at Theko Fihla river, in Centane, late on Sunday afternoon. She had facial injuries. No one had been arrested by Monday morning, and Manatha asked that anyone with information regarding the crime contact the police. – Sapa
