An Eastern Cape man is being held in connection with the rape of a woman in Papamani near Grahamstown, police said on Monday.
“The 39-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after the woman he had allegedly raped the previous evening recognised his voice as she was passing him on street,” said Captain Mali Govender.
She said the 45-year-old woman was raped and robbed on Saturday evening after the man gained entrance to her residence.
The man was expected to appear in court soon on charges of rape and robbery. - Sapa
