Elliotdale - A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Nkanya, Elliotdale, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

The man, 24, went to the 22-year-old woman's home carrying a knife on Sunday night. He kicked the door open and threatened to stab her, before raping her, Major Zamukulungisa Jozana said.

He fled, but was arrested later after police were called.

The man would appear in the Elliotdale Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. - Sapa
