Uitenhage -
A woman was robbed and raped after two men entered her home while she was asleep with her toddler in Kwanobuhle, near Uitenhage, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.
The woman, aged 26, woke up when she heard the door open, said Lt-Col Priscilla Naidu.
“Two unknown men entered her room. One man was wearing a balaclava.”
The two men then assaulted her and one of them raped her.
She was then tied up and the men stole items from her house before fleeing.
Her daughter, aged three, woke up during the break-in but was not harmed.
The woman's husband was out at the time. After the men left, she managed to alert neighbours, who untied her.
Police are investigating a case of housebreaking and rape. - Sapa
