Johannesburg - A woman's body was found covered in grass near a railway line in Chiawelo, Soweto, on Friday, police said.
The woman was believed to have been killed somewhere and dumped in Chiawelo, said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.
He said a post mortem would determine how the woman, aged between 20 and 30, was killed. Her body was found by a passer-by. Her identity was not known.
An inquest docket has been opened.
