Women arrested for running a brothel in Kimberley

Kimberley -Two women were arrested for running a brothel in Kimberly in the Northern Cape, the Hawks said on Tuesday

"The Hawks’ Organised Crime unit closed down an upmarket brothel in Kimberley on 19 December 2016. Consequently, the alleged brothel owner, Nonsukiswa Porcia Dlamini , 36, from KwaZulu-Natal and Nontumelelo Precious Sonqishe, 32, from the Eastern Cape were arrested," said Captain Philani Nkwalase. 

He said the premises was said to be rented from one of the local estate agency and it was not known at this stage if the owner knows about the house being turned into a brothel

"Pornographic DVDs, condoms and several cell phones which were allegedly used in communicating schedules with their clients were seized. At this stage none of the women arrested has claimed to have been trafficked and subsequently they were arrested for running brothel." 

They appeared in the Kimberley Magistrate's Court on Tuesday and they were remanded in custody. Their case was postponed to December 28 for bail application.
