Johannesburg -

Two women were arrested in Moletsane in Soweto after they were allegedly found in possession of a hijacked vehicle, Gauteng police said on Monday.

“The women were arrested on Sunday after a tip-off from the community that a vehicle believed to have been hijacked was seen at a house in Moletsane on Saturday,” said police spokesman Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.

“Police found a vehicle parked in a garage in a house owned by one of the women in Moletsane. Investigations revealed that the vehicle was hijacked during a house robbery in Krugersdorp on Saturday,” said Makhubela.

Makhubela said the women, aged between 40 and 51, will appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Tuesday charged with the possession of a hijacked vehicle. - Sapa
