Mankweng - A Zion Christian Church (ZCC) prophet appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for allegedly raping a woman, Limpopo police said.

The case was postponed until March 14, said Constable Moses Molepo.

The man was arrested on Sunday after the 27-year-old woman claimed he had held a knife to her throat and raped her on Saturday morning, during an all-night prayer session at the church's headquarters in Moria, near Polokwane.

The Star reported on Tuesday that the church was not aware of the alleged rape.

“We don't know anything about it. Ask the police. That's all I can say to you,” ZCC official Ronnie Malahlela told the newspaper. - Sapa
