The killing of two boys and a girl in Limpopo was a violation of human rights, the presidency said on Monday.
“Such outrageous and inhumane action against defenceless children is a gross violation of the right to human life as enshrined in the Constitution,” President Jacob Zuma said in a statement.
He was reacting to the stoning to death of three orphans in Limpopo.
Bafana Kekana, nine, Hosea Richard Kekana, 10, and Johana
Kekana, 12, were last seen on Wednesday at the Dikobo Primary School during a march to demand more teachers.
Their bodies were found on Saturday. Their hands and feet had been tied with shoelaces. The girl had been raped before being killed.
Zuma said: “I am deeply dismayed by this heartless and inexplicable cruelty on children.”
He urged police to find those responsible for the killings so they could face the might of the law.
Women and Children Minister Lulu Xingwana said: “There are murderers on the loose. For as long as they are still roaming our streets, our children are not safe.”
Limpopo safety and security MEC Florence Radzilani said the police had been instructed to leave no stone unturned in the investigation. - Sapa
