Bloemfontein - A young child and three other people were killed in a collision between a car and a truck on the Bultfontein road (R64), about 20km from Bloemfontein on Saturday night, paramedics said.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at about 6pm and found another young child and a man had sustained moderate injuries in the collision, ER24 spokeswoman Annine Siddall said on Sunday.
One of the men killed was trapped in the Toyota Conquest and the jaws-of-life had to be used to remove him from the car. The driver of the Toyota Conquest sustained minor injuries.
ER24 transported the three injured people to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment. Local authorities attended the scene and would investigate the circumstances leading to the crash, Siddall said.
