MEC Nkosi-Malobane visits #DumiMasilela's family

Johannesburg - Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane on Monday paid a visit to slain Rhythm City star Dumisani Masilela following news of his death last week.

Masilela died following a hijacking ordeal in Tembisa last Wednesday. 

He had recently married his long term beau former Muvhango actress Simphiwe Ngema.

The MEC visited the family at their home in Kempton Park and was accompanied by Ekurhuleni metro police deputy Chief of Police Goodman Mzolo and the Kempton Park and Tembisa police cluster commander.

“This family deserves better and we are working around the clock to solve this crime. It is in fact a priority case, which is why we have our people working around the clock,” she said. 

Nkosi-Malobane was adamant that the perpetrators should be brought to justice by the end of the week, following evidence found in the recovered vehicle and information divulged by the community.

The MEC also told The Star newspaper that the visit to Masilela's family was also in support of Ngema, who is a safety ambassador in the area.

The family declined to speak the any media present but had previously confirmed that the memorial service would take place on August 9, 2017 at Hope Restoration Ministries between 2pm-6pm. 

The funeral will also take place at the same venue on the August 12, 2017  from 8am – 11am.
