ANC regains Carolina seat

The ANC regained ward nine of the Albert Luthuli (Elukwatini/Carolina) municipality in by-elections this week, the Independent Electoral Commission said on Thursday.

ANC candidate Fana Nkosi won 1 534 votes (93 percent) against 107 for Joseph Mkhaliphi of the Congress of the People.

The voter turnout was 29.12 percent and 47 ballots were spoilt. The previous councillor resigned. - Sapa
