Johannesburg -
The ANC on Tuesday expressed sadness at the death of journalist and author Heidi Holland.
“Her death has indeed robbed this country of a philanthropist of note,” ANC spokesman Jackson Mthembu said in a statement.
“Certainly, her death will leave a void in the journalism vocation and in the creative writing space in general.”
Holland, 64, was found dead in her home in Melville, Johannesburg, on Saturday. Police said her death was possibly a suicide.
Holland was a freelance journalist and author who wrote several books including “The Struggle: A History of the African National Congress” and “Dinner with Mugabe”.
The ANC sent its condolences to Holland's family, friends and the media fraternity. - Sapa
