Johannesburg - IFP supporters came out in their numbers to listen to their leader, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, in Soweto on Sunday.

Constance Lukhele said: “I abandoned everything to listen to my leader. He is the only politician that I can trust with my vote. I wouldn’t miss his speech for anything in this world.”

Most of the women and men were dressed in traditional Zulu garb.

Buthelezi told the crowd: “With your vote we can heal our nation, we can jump-start our economy, we can create real jobs.”

Buthelezi said the country was stinking of corruption. He urged the crowds to vote for the IFP.

“We need to ask ourselves whether this current crop of leaders is honest, reliable and able to deliver. Are they the right people for the job for 2014?”
