DA Youth elects new leaders

Johannesburg - The Democratic Alliance Youth elected a new leadership on Saturday.

Mbali Ntuli, 25, from KwaZulu-Natal was elected as the youth federal leader at its electicve congress in Johannesburg, a statement said.

Yusuf Cassim, 23, from the Eastern Cape was elected the youth federal chairman.

Tertus Simmers, 30, from the Western Cape was elected as federal youth training and development chairman.

Thorne Godinho, 21, from Gauteng, was elected media and publicity chairperson.

DA spokeswoman for the congress, Anchen Dryer, said voting was done democratically.

“While the elections were tightly contested, the outcome was accepted because it was conducted in a free, open and fair manner,” she said.

“I am confident that this team of leaders will help the DA in winning many more young and first time voters in election 2014.” - Sapa
