There have been several spoofs of the DA Students Organisations controversial poster showing a white man and a black woman embracing.
White domestic workers, dogs hugging cats and black horses mounting white horses – these images dominated social media sites on Wednesday as the latest DA youth ad campaign ignited the web.
The controversial “In our future you wouldn’t look twice” campaign poster, showing a black woman and white man in an intimate embrace, inspired the spoof posters, which have gone viral.
DA Student Organisation leader Aimee Franklin said they found the spoofs entertaining. “One or two are over-the-top but … it’s a good indication that the campaign was relevant,” Franklin said.
“We needed to spark a debate – openly and candidly.
“So we are very happy with the level of debate.”
She said the organisation had timed the release of the poster to coincide with university orientation weeks. “It’s a membership and awareness drive to raise awareness of us and the kind of organisation we are,” she said.
There have been several spoofs of the DA Students Organisations controversial poster showing a white man and a black woman embracing.
A spoof poster of a white domestic worker, supposedly issued by the SA Students’ Congress (Sasco), has been doing the rounds on Facebook and mobile networks.
Sasco deputy secretary-general Luzuko Buku vehemently denied it had released the poster.
“We firmly believe that the poster was created by the (DA youth) as a malicious attempt to shift the focus from highly stereotypical posters which demonstrate an extreme level of white supremacy,” Buku said, adding that he thought the DA was promoting promiscuity with the original poster. - Cape Times

Don't you just love this country. A spoof of a DASO poster of a gorgeous, sexy, scantly dressed white woman depicting that of a maid cleaning floors is placed on Facebook and all hell breaks loose. We are such an aggressive society both mentally and physically and really need to take a good look at ourselves, lighten up and learn to laugh at ourselves a lot more, especially seen that we are quite a joke of a country, with a circus of clowns as the government of the day, or should I say until our saviour returns, as this will be the only thing that will save us.

I have always suspected that madam Zille is a machine brought from the future to come and destroy all mankind. It's a pity her party is still being male dominated despite the faces being those of women.

I like, DA, I like! So the DA's odious 'liberal' forbears missed the whole liberation thing, but it sure is compensating with its new sexually liberated approach. There's nothing like some [upper-middle class] jungle fever to get the nation's loins stirring. This is exactly the wholesome message that our country needs to focus its attention on the joys of lovemaking in general, and inter-racial action in particular [who cares about HIV and STD's when you're having fun,hey ]! The DA's leaders have at the same time conceived a far-sighted long-term strategy...the best way to ensure increased support for the DA, is to breed it.

@João. No my man. Lindiwe couldn't. She's Zulu and JZ's body type, could lead to an outbreak fire in Parliament corridors if you know what I mean...JZ on fire...Maybe a Tokyo Sewale and his wife all topless and hugging poster would be better or something...

Personally as a proud black man I am not offended and I believe that majority of black South African do not care as well. Those blacks who claim to be offended are not really offended but simply bitter because of attention DA and DASO receive as a result of this controversial poster. I think this time DA pushed an envelope a little bit.

Isn't it amazing how sex sells. The D.A. have sort of lost the plot somewhere along the way. Zille is bouncing around too much on the stage, some brain cells have come loose.

Interesting ad. Kind of gives the impression that the DA youth is a DA (Dating Agency). LOL. Join the DA, we will hook you up and get you busy and we don't discriminate LOL. Like Michael Jackson said, "It doesn't matter if your black or white yeah, yeah, yeah"

How dumb are people? Its a SPOOF. That means its a lighthearted or controversial replication of the original. The only ad the DA launched was of the multi racial couple embracing. These other adverts are not from the DA, they are SPOOF adverts! Crikey...read the headline, engage brain and then comment please.

Back to the original topic regarding the original DA poster: It shows that people can love each other despite color of skin. Those who perceive it as anything else are the actual racists in this country.
