East London, Eastern Cape -
The ANC in the Eastern Cape will assess government's performance during its provincial lekgotla, it said on Sunday.
“The second day of the Eastern Cape ANC lekgotla gets underway in East London on Sunday morning, with congregated delegates breaking into various commissions of the meeting,” provincial secretary Lubabalo Mabuyane said in a statement.
“Six commissions have been created in line with key ANC sub-committees: These are legislature and governance, which incorporates local government, peace and stability, health and education, economic and rural development and social transformation.”
Mabuyane said delegates would discuss the link between the government and African National Congress' work and improving public participation and constituency work.
The ANC also needed to look at better ways of communicating achievements and programmes.
The Eastern Cape delegates would discuss key election programmes ahead of the 2014 national elections.
The lekgotla started on Saturday and would run until Tuesday afternoon. - Sapa
