Johannesburg - Economic Freedom Fighters supporters in red berets sang and danced outside the Uncle Tom's Hall in Soweto ahead of the organisation's national assembly on Friday.

“(President Jacob) Zuma is fleeing with his dogs. (Gwede) Mantashe is fleeing with his dogs,” they sang in IziZulu.

EFF leader Julius Malema was scheduled to address the opening of the national assembly at 6pm. A few hundred supporters were milling around outside.

The national assembly was expected to discuss the protest movement's policies and manifesto. - Sapa
