Cape Town - Marius Fransman was on Saturday night re-elected unopposed as chairperson of the African National Congress in the Western Cape (ANCWC).

Fransman, who delivered his political overview on Saturday, would now focus on increasing the party’s provincial support base with the aim of winning back the Western Cape.

The overview speech as well as the re-election of Fransman as chairperson took place at the party’s eighth provincial conference in Bellville at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).

Four other positions within the provincial executive committee (PEC) needed to be filled, namely secretary, deputy chair, assistant secretary, and treasurer.

The rest of the PEC positions had been contested and were to be resolved on the last day of the conference, Sunday.
