Fraud-accused John Block was re-elected as chairman of the ANC in the Northern Cape on Friday.

Block received 496 votes, while his opponent Godfrey Oliphant, the deputy minister of mineral resources, received 32 votes, out of 553 voting delegates.

Some ballots were spoilt.

Block is currently facing charges of fraud, corruption and racketeering related to the sale of water purification plants. – Sapa
