Cape Town - Music legend Judy Boucher celebrated her birthday in style earlier this week, dressed up in the African National Congress colours.

The Caribbean-born performer posted a picture on Facebook of herself wearing an ANC-sarong wrapped around her body and an ANC bandana on her head.

In the post on Wednesday the souls singer wrote: “My birthday picnic organised by my sister joyce at Mt wynn a great day. Xxx”

This is not the first time the star, who is famous for hits like ‘Can’t be with You’, has donned the yellow, black and green.

Two years ago, Boucher was a special guest at an ANC event as Contralesa (Congress of Traditional leaders of SA) Western Cape celebrated 20 years at the Castle of Good Hope.

Having met with the party’s sidelined provincial chairperson, Marius Fransman, Boucher announced: “I am actually a supporter, yes (of the ANC). I’ll support anything that’s good.”

That visit then was just days ahead of the May 7 general elections, which saw the ANC retain its position as the country’s ruling party.
