Johannesburg - Democratic Alliance Gauteng premier candidate Mmusi Maimane launched the party's provincial election manifesto in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille arrived at the party's job rally to loud cheers.

Zille, dressed in a red dress, walked into the Ellis Park indoor arena as blue confetti was dispersed into the air.

Crowds of people cheered and sang struggle songs as Zille entered.

“It is good to be in Gauteng and to see so many supporters,” she told the crowd.

Zille then introduced the party's Gauteng premier candidate Mmusi Maimane.

“Change has never been so possible in Gauteng,” Maimane told the crowd at the Ellis Park indoor arena.

“Today we are fighting for change and we are fighting for jobs.”

Maimane was launching the manifesto at the party's job rally.

He said that the manifesto was a pledge to the people of Gauteng and the foundation for the future.

“We are going to win and we are going to bring change. Change is coming to Gauteng and it is coming through the DA,” Maimane said. - Sapa
