Cape Town - Democratic Alliance parliamentary leader Lindiwe Mazibuko's recovery following an operation over a week ago is progressing well, the party said on Monday.

“She's at home. She's recovering and she's doing well,” said DA parliamentary caucus chairman Wilmot James.

The nature of Mazibuko's illness would not be disclosed to protect her privacy.

It remained unclear when she would return to work.

“She will come back when her doctors say she can,” James said.

James has taken over Mazibuko's parliamentary duties while she recovers.
