Mpumalanga - The Mpumalanga education department aims to have a clean audit by 2014, it said on Wednesday.

“We are not going to be complacent, but will continue to work around the clock to improve all our obligations,” MEC Reginah Mhaule said in a statement.

Mhaule's department received an unqualified audit opinion for the second consecutive year from the Auditor General. Mhaule said this was good news for the province. An unqualified audit is similar to a patient getting a “clean bill of health”.

“It confirms our ability to efficiently and effectively manage state resources.” - Sapa
