The Northern Cape ANC provincial nomination conference in Kimberley started late on Friday.

Proceedings were supposed to start at 9am but eventually got under way just before noon.

The conference at the Jimmy Summers Hall started with heavy security measures in place.

Northern Cape ANC leader John Block and provincial secretary Zumane Saul were at the hall listening to messages of support from alliance partners.

Proceedings were taking place in an ordered and quiet manner. - Sapa
