Johannesburg - Nobel laureate and writer Nadine Gordimer has died at the age of 90, reports said on Monday.

She died peacefully in her sleep at her Johannesburg home on Sunday, law firm Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs said in a statement on behalf of the Gordimer family.

This was according to EyeWitnessNews and Channel24.co.za.

Gordimer was born near Springs in 1923. She was published in 40

languages around the world and awarded the Nobel prize in Literature in 1991.
