Johanneburg -

School governing bodies appealed for calm on Wednesday while investigations into the Limpopo textbook saga continued.

“We as the National Congress of School Governing Bodies will pronounce ourselves on the issue after the report has been released,” said spokesman Monokoane Hlobo.

He said the organisation was disappointed the textbook problem had not been resolved much earlier.

“We also urge the department to develop and fund a catch-up programme in Limpopo.”

On Monday, President Jacob Zuma received a preliminary report from the task team that investigated the late delivery of textbooks in the province.

Zuma was studying the report and urged the task team to continue and conclude its work. He would comment on the report once the matter had been concluded. - Sapa
