The National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) has not made a decision on who to support in the coming ANC elective conference in Mangaung.
Johannesburg -
The National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) has not made a decision on who to support in the coming ANC elective conference in Mangaung, the union said on Sunday.
“In all our meetings we are now discussing Mangaung. There is no decision now that has been taken that we don't want JZ 1/8Jacob Zuma 3/8,” said Numsa's general secretary Irvin Jim.
He said the union had nothing against the Polokwane leadership, as many people thought.
Numsa has 300,000 members and is Cosatu's second biggest affiliate, after the National Union of Mineworkers.
Jim was speaking at a press briefing in Newtown, Johannesburg, after the union's central committee meeting. - Sapa
