Cape Town - Hundreds have gathered at Church Square outside the National Treasury to protest against the recent Cabinet reshuffle.

Some protesters wore black for #BlackMonday, a social media campaign that has asked South Africans to wear black clothes to support the resignation or stepping down of President Jacob Zuma.

Save SA activists also joined the protest and the South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu) demanded that state capture form the Guptas must fall.

"We have no other country, we have to defend this beloved country," said Saftu steering committee convener Zwelinzima Vavi.

Vavi asserted that this was not only about Pravin Gordhan or Mcebisi Jonas, it was about the 'Zupta gang of thieves' that threaten to impact the National Treasury negatively.
