The affordable education loan option
Cape Town -
Parliament has failed to transform itself in the past 20 years, according to the latest employment equity figures, which show coloured employees are over-represented while Africans are under-represented by nearly 20 percent.
But Parliament attributes the racial profile to apartheid, saying it is working hard to meet the required levels.
Currently, 56 percent of the employees of Parliament are women.
Parliament’s ideal workforce is 74 percent African, 11 percent coloured, 3 percent Indian and 12 percent white.
But as things stand, Africans represent 55 percent of the workforce, with coloured employees making up 32 percent.
Indian employees are the required 3 percent, with the same for white employees at 12 percent.
