Cape Town - Most South Africans would pay Julius Malema to shut up but in Zimbabwe, people are paying to hear the Economic Freedom Fighters leader speak.

Zimbabweans will have to fork out almost R1 200, or ZIM$33 000, to listen to Malema.

Malema is expected to speak at an event in Harare on May 7, reports Timeslive, and has been dubbed “South Africa’s youngest power broker” by the organisers.

The EFF leader has been invited to the event at a time when xenophobic attacks in SA – which he blames on President Jacob Zuma – are a hot topic and he is expected to speak about them.

In an advertisement, event organiser Alpha Media Holdings said: “Julius will recount his story of starting his political career with the ANC at age nine [and will share] his views and beliefs on African domination of the world, and his passion and views of the recent events in South Africa.”

Malema was last in Zimbabwe in 2012 when he was ANCYL president, after he was invited by President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu-PF.
