Bloemfontein - There was a power cut in the marquee where the ANC was holding the closing proceedings of its national conference on Thursday.

The electricity went out as the ANC chaplain was praying over the centenary flame.

President Jacob Zuma and other top leaders were whisked out of the tent.

Chairwoman Baleka Mbete told delegates the issue was being sorted out.

“Please sing to keep ourselves going,” she said.

Delegates broke out into song.

“We are the conquerors,” they sang. - Sapa
