Rustenburg - Leseding News founder and former editor-in-chief, Levy Pule Mokwele, is standing as an ANC councillor candidate for Ward 13, which covers a large part of Rustenburg North and some areas of Thlabane Township.

Mokwele was a renowned investigative journalist in the province.

Asked what changes he would bring to his constituency if elected, Mokwele said: “Having been in touch with the masses on the ground for over 13 years as journalist, I understand what (the) pressing issues are and will ensure that there is service delivery from the day I am given a mandate”.

Mokwele was part of the entourage led by the Executive Mayor of Rustenburg, Councillor Mpho Khunou which attended church services of both Maranata Church in Rustenburg as well as the Zion Christian Church in Thlabane on Sunday.

They received a warm welcome and blessings ahead of the local government elections scheduled for August 3.
