Johannesburg - The EFF’s Economic Freedom March has reached Rosebank.

People on the sidelines cheered on EFF leader Julius Malema, with some abandoning workstations and joining the March.

People were hanging out of office windows with cellphones, capturing the scenes.

Some local businesses supplied the marchers with oranges and water.

The March is expected to reach Sandton around 4:30 and is expected to cause widespread traffic congestion around peak hour traffic.

Reports on the ground indicate that a lot of businesses have shut their doors around 12 today in anticipation of the March.

The marchers stopped for a short break to allow the other marchers to catch up.

On the outskirts of Sandton, a visibly tired Julius Malema told IOL that he was a little tired but was happy with how the March was going, before leading the now almost 40 000 strong crowd in song.
