Johannesburg - South Africa has renewed trade deals and reviewed bilateral progress with Angola at a joint commission, the international relations and co-operation department said on Friday.
“The main objective of the joint commission is to promote political, economic and social co-operation between our two countries,” International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane said in a speech prepared for delivery after the talks.
Angola's delegation was led by Foreign Minister Georges Chikoti.
“We salute the signing of such a high number of agreements and memoranda of understanding. We also noted that the implementation of these legal instruments is not at the level we wanted it to be,” said Nkoana-Mashabane.
Both countries agreed to increase and expand economic co-operation and to prioritise the implementation of all signed agreements.
