Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale has warned that the disciplinary hearing of ANC Youth League leaders should not be used to settle political scores, the Business Day reported on Wednesday.
“No disciplinary action should be taken for political or personal reasons. It is not a court process, not a persecution, not a prosecution… it's a last opportunity given to anyone to solve their issues,” Sexwale said.
ANC officials, including President Jacob Zuma, needed to be made aware of the possibility that they were wrong in charging Malema, he said. “There is always a possibility the complainant is wrong.”
ANCYL leader Julius Malema, ANCYL spokesman Floyd Shivambu, league secretary general Sindiso Magaqa, deputy president Ronald Lamola, treasurer general Pule Mabe, and deputy secretary general Kenetswe Mosenogi face several charges before an ANC disciplinary committee.
This came after comments that the ANCYL would help bring about regime change in Botswana. The six were also accused of sowing divisions within the party.
Sexwale said he had been asked to testify at the hearing when it resumes on Thursday.
He said although he had been asked by Malema to testify, he was not taking sides.
It has been widely reported that Malema was campaigning for President Jacob Zuma not to get a second term when the ruling party elects leaders next year. It was also reported that Sexwale and other ANC leaders were plotting to oust Zuma. – Sapa

tokyo asks business to step forward and “each one house one” I wonder how many he has housed as a business leade or minister of human settlements...? Then he says there is a cut off date for free housing, no building a better life or houses for all anymore.

Greedy, ignorant and probably the conductor of the gravy train as we know it. I though Sexwale was a good man but now we see he is also about self-enrichment and nothing else.

From having no credit card in 1991 to a billionaire now, how did you come by so much money Mr Tokyo? We do not trust your intentions. The people should nationalise all the ANC members and their families bank accounts plus Malema's trust account.

Tokyo Sexwale could not even make a decision on a TV Reality show - The Apprentice SA a few years back. He is reating on his laurels. Very weak I would say.

Mr. Sexwale you were one of the shining examples of how successful one can become despite your circumstances. You gave hope to so many. There is no truer saying that it takes many years to build a good reputation and it can be destroyed in a short while. Mr. Sexwale I can understand you wanting to oust Mr. Zuma - after all what goes round comes round. I cannot however for the life of me understand your allegiance to Julius Malema. Despite a number of analysts cyting his intelligence, you cannot deny he is sowing the seeds of corruption and desparaty whenever he opens his trap! He is poison personified. He helped Zuma to power. Helped himself to whatever cofferstenders he has access to. Blatantly brain washes our youth. Spews forth citations of nationalisation that with global proof does not work and despite this evidence he carries on and does not care about the consequences to our economy. Your own wife was a victim of a crime that could have gone horribly wrong, yet you choose to side with a man who will cause further depression to our economy, cause further loss of employment and in turn give rise to more crime? Where is the logic? I am totally baffled why a supposedly intelligent and astute business person can allow his reputation to be sullied this way!

have you forgotten how he got his house built by Stocks & Stocks for free as a Premier of Gauteng. These people are all the same. It is all about themselves, although this time he has crossed the line.

I am losing all the respect I once had for this man. If you want to oppose Zuma, then do so because you are a better and principled leader. A respectable leader would never ride to the country's top position on the back of a buffoon such as Malema. So, get out of government and go back to The Apprentice!

Mr Sexwale, I have lost respect for you. Maybe you have lots of money outside SA, and that's why you not worried about SA's future. So come what may, you have nothing to lose, unlike our everyday bread and butter common SA citizens who struggle to live.

Liar, Actor, Snake etc. The last time I heard anything about this guy was when he coughed up money from his "private wealth" to investigate these so called malema supporters who are trying to topple the president, mind you I dont even like the current president. What was the outcome of the investigation? I hope this man never becomes president, he is a dangerous liar.

And the plot thickens. Looks like Tokyo might be making his move. Maybe the conspiracies are true, or maybe he should just shut up and let Malema be held responsible for scaring off foreign investment, threatening neighboring countries, trying to topple government, and trying to divide the country.

A further move to the left, fuel for the fire. Maybe Forbes were correct with their assumption of JU JU and one of the most powerful people in Africa. Another nail in the coffin for SA boytjies, get out now, dont wait for the ZIM dilemma when it will be too late....!!

Tokyo must jump. The disciplinary hearing is the proccess to determine whether Juju and company have misbehaved or not. Tokyo must not prejudge. Let the fair proccess unfold and we are all patiently waiting for the outcome and possible the saction.
