Johannesburg - Former ANC Women's League spokeswoman Troy Martens has laid charges after a woman motorist allegedly assaulted her this week, the Sunday World reports.
“I want her to know that what she did was wrong and she can't get away with such behaviour,” Martens was quoted as saying.
She was travelling along Hendrick Potgieter Road in Strubens Valley, west of Johannesburg, when she failed to give another driver the right of way.
She lifted her hand to apologise for the discourtesy, but the woman drove erratically, then stopped in front of her, got out of her car, came to her and signalled for her to roll down her window. She said she did not feel threatened by a woman.
“But before I knew it she shoved her hand in my face, pressing it down. I was so shocked and shaken I actually cried. I couldn't even retaliate because I didn't see it coming.”
