On Monday, UCT, Wits and University of Pretoria students were in the spotlight over their #FeesMustFall protests after Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande announced that universities will be responsible for their own fee adjustments, that should not exceed 8%.

The students threatened to shutdown campus various campuses in protest against tuition fee increases.

Later in the day, students from UKZN, who had been protesting against fee increases for weeks, took to Twitter to complained about the amount of media coverage other institutions were receiving.

Some people on Twitter said UKZN students had been protesting much longer, while others tried to keep the peace by suggesting that it is not about media coverage but that everyone was fighting for the same cause.
