Pretoria - South Africa has a good story to tell after 20 years of democratic government, Swaziland's ambassador to South Africa said on Wednesday.

“Swaziland agrees that South Africa has a good story to tell as you celebrate 20 years of democracy,” ambassador Senzangakhona Dlamini told President Jacob Zuma in Pretoria.

Zuma welcomed new ambassadors from Kazakhstan, Serbia, Swaziland, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

During the launch of its manifesto and its election campaign, the governing African National Congress used the “good story to tell” slogan to highlight its achievements in the past 20 years.

Dlamini said his country had good relations with South Africa.

“I am honoured to be in charge of enhancing the good relations we have between us,” he said.

Kazakhstan ambassador Talgat Kaliyev congratulated Zuma on last week's general elections.

“The government and the people of Kazakhstan congratulate you on the successful elections. I look forward to enhancing the prosperity of the people of our two countries,” he said.

South Africa and Kazakhstan would co-operate in areas such as mining, renewable energy, and construction, said Zuma.
